Projects & Demos

Enjoy the projects & demos below.

RMI and CORBA                                2008

These two projects are done in course of Distributed Systems and Middleware. The Java RMI Chatrom supports multiple chatrooms each with multiple clients. Client remotely call the procedure resided in server side to obtain list of existing chatrooms. The CORBA auction system is similar to ebay, and provides bidding and selling functions as well as banking information.

Software:
C/C++, Java

goGarcia                                               2007

See our demo video

goGarcia is a target tracking demo system. The sensor network will sense and report the location of triggered event. A centralized server will calculate the route
and send out commands to the Garcia robot.

Hardware:
Garcia Robot, Mica2 Sensor Mote

Software:
TinyOS, NesC, C/C++, Java

sBlink                                                     2007

This is a distributed, self-organizing and self-healing application. In sBlink, every sensor node blinks one by one with a duration of 1 second between blinkings based on their orders of joining the network. sBlink needs to handle the events of multiple nodes' joining and leaving, as well as message collision problems.

Hardware:
Mica2 mote, MTS310 Sensor Board

Software:
TinyOS, NesC

76ers Robot                                         2005

76ers is the name of the robot we designed in the Robot Contest held by USTC in 2005. The goal in the contest is to pick up as many balls as possible and deliver them to
the center platform, as well as to avoid collisions with other robots. Besides the software system, we designed and made the robot all by ourselves.

Hardware:
Intel 8051 Chipset, Motor

Software:
Keil C, C/C++

bookCD                                                  2004

The bookCD is a free service system for all USTC students, faculties and staffs. We recorded every CD our library bought into Oracle database, and provided web pages for searching and downloading services. The database updating system was written with Delphi and the web pages were carefully designed with PHP support.

Software:
PHP, Oracle 8i, Delphi 5.0

Window of Electric Field               2003

Developed an application on electromagnetism (using Visual Basic), which was chosen to be used in the future teaching in University of Sci. & Tech. of China.

Software:
Visual Basic 6.0
